Hi, I'm Princess, owner of Backyard Garden Seeds. Some of you know that I first began selling seeds on my blog. Seed selling got more attention than I expected, and people started to categorize my blog as a seed company. Because of that, I decided to give the seeds their own platform, and that's how Backyard Garden Seeds was created.   I do not use chemical pesticides in my garden. I use natural things like essential oils (peppermint and eucalyptus), Diatomaceous Earth, Castile Soap, and Neem Oil. However, those are usually a last resort. I protect my plants with mesh netting to avoid pests to avoid having to use anything at all. 

Tishana came up with these garden kits in 2013 while killing every plant she tried growing from seed. She couldn't keep a plant alive if you paid her to, meanwhile she would see everyone else have magical green thumbs. Why was it working for them and not her? Are other people having this same issue?  Through trial and error and fun science experiments she came up with two successful solutions. From that point Coco and Seed was born.   

My goal is to inspire health and wealth in a way that is fun educational and empowering.

Together, we are part of a multi-ethnic, multi-national movement of farmers and seed-keepers, working to preserve our heritage and create a strong agricultural future for our communities. 

Melanated Organics promotes all-natural health and wellness products, and provides heirloom seeds for home gardening, gourmet salts to enhance the flavor and mood of food, and a meditative selection of teas and tea blends to soothing the mind and body.

 We offer the best sustainable, Non-Hybrid organic seeds to produce high quality and high germinating seeds. Our teas are sourced from renowned and prestigious tea regions throughout the world. 

Truelove Seeds is a farm-based seed company offering culturally important and open pollinated vegetable, herb, and flower seeds. Our seeds are grown by more than 50 small-scale urban and rural farmers committed to community food sovereignty, cultural preservation, and sustainable agriculture. This collaboration is an opportunity for growers to share their own ancestral seeds and stories and to bring in extra financial support for their food sovereignty and agroecological projects. 

The mission of UCFA is to increase diversity in the $15 billion dollar U.S. seed industry.  We are committed to providing increased opportunities and support for growers from historically marginalized communities in the area of seed farming. To this end, the UCFA is working to bridge the gap between prospective BIPOC seed growers and seed companies.
